Toyota Let Me Drive a 2013 RAV4 For an Entire Week and I’m in LOVE #myrav4adventure

When I was contacted by the folks at Toyota to see how I would feel about taking one of their 2013 RAV4′s for a week long test drive, I was beyond excited.  I’ve owned a couple of Toyota’s in my life and I was very, very happy with them, so I really couldn’t say yes fast enough.  I mean I had heard RAV4′s optional all-wheel drive, improved fuel economy and performance and 24-hour roadside assistance (which comes with all new vehicle purchases by the way), but to get the chance to try it out for myself was amazingly awesome.

My RAV4 showed up a little over a week ago.  I was so excited when it first arrived at my house and I just couldn’t wait to take it for a spin.   And since I really had nothing to do with the kids coming home from school about an hour or so later, I went to the grocery store.

It doesn’t get much more exciting than that now does it?

Anyways, the first few I had the RAV4, I just drove it around on my normal day to day activities.   You know, things like Zumba, krav maga classes and all the kids after-school activities.  But then, a week ago Friday, Chris and I left for a weekend away in Newport, RI and we couldn’t wait to bring the RAV4 along for the ride.

We visited the Rosecliff Mansion:

And the beach:

But sadly, last Sunday, we had to get back to reality and leave Newport to get home.

I wanted to take the chance to tell you about a few of my favorite features of the RAV4.

For those of you that know me in real life, you already know that I love music and music in the car is a must. I loved the radio in the RAV4.  I was able to at least a dozen pre-sets and the screen actually displayed the radio station, the artist, name of the song and the genre.

You can control the radio from the steering wheel, too!

The one thing that I had a minor bit of trouble adjusting to was the push start engine.  Up until I drove the RAV4, I had never driven a car that didn’t require a key.  For those of you who may be unfamiliar, you just step on the brake and push the button to start and turn off the car.  It was pretty cool.

Oh and check out the super snazzy interior:

There are so many features to the 2013 RAV4 that I don’t even think I could name them all.  The dual zone climate control was one of the things that Chris and I utilized during the entire week we had the car.  I am always cold and he’s always hot, so we were able to set the temperature on each side of the car as needed.  My absolute favorite feature, though, were the seat warmers.  Yes, it’s June and yes, I actually was chilly one night and used mine.  It was so nice & toasty and if you’re someone that’s always cold like I am, this is a must-have feature.

I have to say that overall, I was really impressed with this car.  It was such a smooth ride and all the features made driving this more than pleasurable.  I was so sad when my rest drive was over and I am seriously thinking about purchasing a RAV4 as my next vehicle.  If I can convince Chris, it might be sooner than I think…..

Huge thank to the folks at Toyota for the chance to drive this amazing car for the week.  I really enjoyed it!
